Climate Emergency so what? Professor James Renwick

James is the superstar of Climate Science in New Zealand. He has 4 decades of experience in weather & climate research and is internationally acclaimed. He is a lead author on the Intergovernmental Panel of Climate Change (IPCC) and contributed to the IPCC that received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007.

James is a passionate educator and winner of the Prime Minister’s Science Communication Prize in 2019. He is Head of School for Geography, Environment and Earth Sciences at Victoria University. He will talk on the science of climate change and its implications for us all in Hawkes bay and beyond

The Climate Crisis is everyone's medical emergency, so what are you doing about it Doc? Dr Forbes McGain

Forbes is an International leader in the push for greater sustainability in the health care system. He is an Intensive Care Physician and Anaesthetist in Melbourne Australia and also has a PhD in hospital environmental sustainability. He is honorary associate professor at the Sydney University School of Public Health in the field of Planetary Health. In this lecture Forbes will explore why doctors (and all who work in healthcare) are integral to carrying our community on to a better path towards prolonged sustainability
