Come and get your snorkel on at the Taputeranga Marine Reserve! Our guides will help you explore the spectacular underwater world of the south coast, and learn about the amazing creatures that live in the reserve’s protected boundaries.

New snorkelers are encouraged (must be able to swim). Wetsuits, snorkels, flippers, guides and safety gear are provided. Just bring your togs and a towel!

Please note the minimum age is 8 years, and children below 16 must be accompanied by a snorkelling adult.

You don’t need to book, just turn up and register for the next available snorkel tour. If you register to attend on the Facebook event, you’ll receive important information and updates, including a confirmation of the location (if the swell is up at Princess Bay, we may move the event to Island Bay). Otherwise you’ll need to check out the Greater Wellington Regional Council and Mountains to Sea Facebook event page on the morning of the event to find out.

If the weather isn't great on the day, we'll postpone the event to the 15th of February.

We look forward to seeing you there!
What to bring: Togs, towel, sunhat, camera, warm clothes.

This event is brought to you by Greater Wellington Regional Council and Mountains to Sea Wellington.

If you are a keen and experienced snorkeler and would like to help the Mountains to Sea Wellington team with this community event please contact volunteer@mtsw.org.nz. Volunteers are needed for this and a number of other community and school programmes over the summer.
