Part of the Covert Theatre Block Workshop Series:
The workshop: Long form narrative improv is the art of collective storytelling. Together as a group of different improvisors with wildly different imaginations we throw out a bunch of different ideas that we then endeavour to mould into something that makes sense.
This 5-day workshop series gives you the tools to find and build a story that takes us and the audience on a journey of discovery rich with interesting characters and exhilarating plot twists and turns.
The teacher: Paul Paice has been improvising for many years and became an Improv Bandit in 2002. He had the fun of performing at the Chicago Improv Festival in 2004 and then returned 10 years later in 2014. He has also performed at the Hawaii Improv Festival in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018 and the Rarotonga shows in 2016. A strong character actor Paul has been in feature films, the US TV show Legend of the Seeker and in the long-running NZ soap opera Shortland Street. His passion in his teaching is helping actors find the truth of the moment.
