What we will do:
On arrival you will be greeted by Tom, Hilda, Dylan, the gate keeper kitten's and your smiley craft expert Lori. While sipping tea or coffee you will be shown various felting techniques and there will be a brief overview of the slipper making process while the cats decide on which music to set the mood. You will be guided through the felt-making process in a beginner style step-by-step. After we have laid out our wool, we will decorate the surface using luxurious artisan and New Zealand wool fibre. We will finish by shrinking, fulling and felting the fibre into a beautiful pair of felt slippers to take home.

Your Host Lori:
Born Canadian artist and qualified designer, I love to share my felt-making knowledge with others in the heart of where the best wool is grown on green pastures, right here in New Zealand. Honing this ancient practice for over 6 years, I have been teaching felt making in the community and meeting many visitors. I am excited to share my knowledge, creativity and expertise with you so you can learn this authentic technique and take home a beautiful New Zealand pair of handmade slippers.
