Days of Ice - Antarctica Photo Exhibit and Charity Auction

Photo exhibit from long-time Antarctic photographer and filmmaker Anthony Powell, with prints sold via silent charity auction as a fund raiser for the Antarctic Heritage Trust. Many of these prints will be first printings, and will be signed and noted as such.

Also, on display will be some of Anthony’s new video and multi-media work, and some of the equipment he uses for capturing his Antarctic images.

Anthony is known for creating the multi-award-winning feature film Antarctica: A Year On Ice and has had his work featured in shows and exhibits from National Geographic, Discovery, BBC, to the US Natural History Museum, and many more. He has wintered-over in Antarctica 10 times now.

This will be held in the Pumanawa Gallery, upstairs above the i-Site at The Arts Centre on Worcester Boulevard, Christchurch.

Keep an eye out for free tie-in talks from Anthony about photography and film making during the Days of Ice festival.

The silent auction will run until 2pm on Saturday 17th October. Winning bidders can pick up their pictures any time after this or on Sunday 18th. Other arrangements for picking up prints can be discussed if these times do not suit.
