Recent works by Brent Treacher.

Brent Treacher was the recipient of the Hawke’s Bay Art Review’s Gordon Harris Premier Award, selected by Bill Milbank in 2019. It seems fitting that Brent now returns to Creative Arts Napier as the venue for the exhibition of his latest body of work, on display in the Small Gallery until 12 March.

Brent Treacher graduated with a Bachelor of Visual Art and Design from Eastern Institute of Technology in 2017.

His practice probes political, social and environmental commentary with inference to recycling. He ponders material usefulness and its relationship to commerce and global warming; usefulness, abstraction; ‘to tackle an unconventional medium adroitly and elevate to create form and space’.

Brent’s works are in private collections in New Zealand and Australia.

Work selected for ‘East’, 2016.
Works selected HB Art review, 2017.

HB Art Review, 2019. Winner Gordon Harris, Premier Award.

The Waimarino Art Awards, 2019. Highly commended.
