Manawataki is super excited to be heading to Napier as part of their Manawataki Rockin' the Bay Tour in February 2020

We have lots of super energised & fun ways of enabling you to easily access & enjoy rhythm & grooves. Be inspired, uplifted and delighted at what you will be able to create with us!

Who are Manawataki?
Based in Palmerston North and led by creative entrepreneur Jennifer Moss, Manawataki is an Afro-inspired drumming ensemble, bringing their own collective passion for West African grooves to communities.

Manawataki reshapes traditional West African material with their own unique Manawatu flavour. This exciting ensemble is in demand at local community events and regularly plays at Festival of Cultures, World On Stage & Africa Day in Wellington.

They have performed with Bismark Kofi Danyo, a professional dancer, singer,and drummer from Ghana, West Africa and last year did a successful tour to Taranaki.

Group workshop 1-2:30pm
2:30 Break
3pm Spilt into smaller groups, your choice!

Dunun tuition, djembe 101, and djembe intermediate all tutored by Manawataki members. We'll help you decide on the day which group to go with.
