Join our guest Chef AJ Takla for our all new Egyptian cooking class. AJ will teach you how to make typical dishes to create an Egyptian feast while sharing both the science and culinary history behind the dishes. The format of the class is part demo, part hands-on cooking to create a feast of multiple dishes to be shared at a sit-down lunch at the end of the class.

Sample menu (TBC): Egyptian Rice, Messa’aa (Moussaka sans béchamel) with mint yoghurt sauce, Taameia (Egyptian felafel), tahini sauce, Sambousa bil gibna, hummus, Tomato and red onion salad, Baba ghanoug, Kunafa birds nests dessert.

ABOUT Angela: AJ brings into the kitchen her childhood in Oman, her Filipino and Egyptian roots, and her training in Paris. Her food comes from the heart. She likes to create food that is accessible and nostalgic and hopes to encourage people to eat more vegetables and use more spice. She encourages people to ask WHY when following recipes - hopefully, you will leave this class with a better understanding of Egyptian food, its history, and the science behind the very specific steps we take when making dishes.
