Flash Gordon – Film Screening

In Mike Hodges’ campy 1980, British – American, Sci-Fi romp, a football player (Sam Jones) and his friends (Topol and Melody Anderson) travel to the planet Mongo and find themselves fighting the tyrant, Ming the Merciless, played by Max Von Sydow, to save the Planet Earth from destruction. The movie alone saved the tinfoil industry with lavish costumes and backdrops and utilising the 80’s rock icons Queen for an truly memorable soundtrack. Starring Melody Anderson, Max Von Sydow, Topol, Timothy Dalton, Ornella Muti, Brian Blessed, a few dwarves,, a scattering of Penthouse Pets, some guys in rubber lizard costumes and Sam J. Jones as Flash AHHHHHHHH…….let’s check it out!
