Glass Art In New Zealand Focus on Glass Exhbition

Focus on Glass is an exhibition celebrating glass art of all techniques and focusing our gaze on the medium.
Following the disruption of COVID-19 and cancellation of events, this is the first major open glass art exhibition in New Zealand since lockdown.

Over 60 works from across New Zealand in a variety of glass techniques, including kiln-forming, casting, blowing, flame-working, and other specialized techniques, will be exhibited. Works will be available for viewing online as well as in person at the gallery, with the majority of works available for sale.
Exhibition work includes pieces from nationally and internationally renowned glass artists Garry Nash ONZM, David Traub, Evelyn Dunstan, Carmen Simmonds, Lisa Bate, Sue Hawker and Katie Brown.

Official opening and award ceremony takes place on Saturday 24 October, with an array of prizes to be awarded to artists, including a major award by the New Zealand Society of Artists in Glass (NZSAG) for their ‘Excellence In Glass’ prize.

Focus On Glass is being promoted locally by Estuary Art Centre, and across the larger Auckland area and nationwide by GAINZ and NZSAG.
