Selwyn Community Education is based at Selwyn College, Kohimarama, Auckland.

Beat boredom this school holidays while doing something meaningful in our innovative 5-day programme to inspire and engage kids 8-12 years.

Get Real provides fun ways for kids to understand relevant social topics and enjoy making positive changes in the world and in the lives of others. Get Real is a collaboration between Selwyn Community Education and the GetReal organisation (contact: nz.getreal@gmail.com or via their website)

Day 5: Friday 2 October: Drama for a Cause

Today's cause: Developing empathy, compassion and kindness.

Today's programme will kick off with an inspirational talk from a Selwyn College student (details to be confirmed).

Following this, the group will spend the day with drama teacher June Renwick.

Come along and have an exciting day of drama. While having fun, you will play drama games, experience improvisations and work as a group to create a presentation that is grounded in values of empathy, compassion and kindness with an understanding of diversity. At the end of the day, you'll share your experiences in an entertainment for your parents and caregivers.
