Golden Shears

The world's premier shearing and woolhandling championship.

2020 marks the 60th anniversary for Golden Shears. It will be a four-day event encompassing novice, junior, intermediate, senior and open shearing competitions along with junior, senior and open woolhandling events and wool pressing competitions, as well as the coveted triathlon award.

Special Events for 2020 include Blade Shearing and Evergreens Shearing & Woolhandling.

Over 400 competitors, National & International, will converge on Masterton for the four days of competition.

The major events, finals, and live entertainment are held on Friday & Saturday night.

The Golden Shears is great family viewing with atmosphere, action, and excitement.
