Harakeke Weaving Workshops

Join us to honour Waitangi Day all week with a series of free and fun harakeke workshops (wānanga).

Learn from our Kairaranga Waiaria Pitau how to harvest and weave harakeke.

Workshops run for two hours. The first hour includes a hikoi to Pūkaha's wetlands to learn about harakeke tikanga and sustainable harvesting, followed by hands-on learning to weave your own harkakeke tuna (fish) to take home.

Morning wānanga: 10.30am -12.30pm
Afternoon wānanga 1.00pm - 3.00pm

Workshops run Mon 3 Feb - Fri 7 Feb (including Waitangi Day).

Workshops cater for up to 10 participants. First in first served.
