Artistic visions emerge in collective exhibition.

Five artists, with five creative visions - collaborate in a collective exhibition- have something to say #2, which opens on August 5th at 6pm at Te Auaha Gallery and continues until Saturday 15th August.

Margie Beattie, arts curator & collaborator, brings another collective exhibition to life, as a platform for established as well as emerging artists to showcase their visual art.

“It’s heartening to emerge out of our nationwide isolation, and experience once again the visual delight you feel when viewing artworks in person. Artists are story-tellers. They muse on themes that often obsess them and motivate an intense creative process. Their visual stories need outlets – so have something to say - a collective exhibition, was created. Postponed from earlier this year, this is the second collective exhibition, with a third in the pipeline at the end of the year,” says Margie.

Have something to say not only provides an opportunity for artists, but for an arts audience, exposing them to cutting edge and exciting art voices, perhaps not otherwise seen in conventional galleries. The ground floor custom-made gallery space at Te Auaha, the new creative campus in the Dixon/ Cuba precinct, is a perfect space for these five artists to have their say,” adds Margie.

The five artists are:

- Elspeth Shannon - new abstract works drawing upon elemental nature incorporating oil, acrylic, and ink

- Glen Jorna - popular contemporary mixed-media artist. Art teacher and resident artist at Wellesley College

- Jasmine Chalmers - exciting young photography talent. Themes encompassing baroque and surreal worlds

- David H Brown - a recognised public artist now spanning abstract digital format

- Owie Simpson - now returned from extended travel overseas, Kapiti based painter pays homage to global themes of creation and belief

For images of these five artists body of work visit the have something to say website.

A percentage of the sale proceeds of artworks will go towards Vincent Art Workshops - a Wellington arts access institution, which the collective feel passionately about supporting.
