Country Homestead at Black Sheep Farm is delighted to announce their next House Concert. “Hey, Piano Bar Lady” reveals the passion of a woman exploring and living her dream. A self-devised cabaret-style jazz musical with lots of original songs and numerous references to Broadway hits, this show is an absolute delight, easy on the ear, uplifting and pleasing to the heart.

Linn Lorkin sings and talks us through an earlier period of her life: from Tokoroa, through Copenhagen and Italy and to her rise as a leading Piano bar player in New York in the late 70’s to the mid 80s. Follow Linn Lorkin down the streets of New York as she takes the city's night-spots by storm.

From rusty SoHo to ritzy Park Avenue here are her heady adventures in the Big Apple told in stand-up style and laced with quirky, catchy, cool songs, delivered from a piano-stool. Linn will be joined by Aaron Coddel on double bass.

The phenomenally talented Linn Lorkin has performed all over the world. A singer, pianist and actress, Lorkin has featured with her own trio at the famed Ronnie Scott's jazz club in London and regularly tours in Europe and Australia as the lead singer in The Jews Brothers Band and French Toast. The Jews Brothers Band celebrate their 20th anniversary in 2015.

Her theatre credits include several years of experimental theatre and more recently, the performance of shows about different slices of her life, musical autobiographies. She sings in several languages and has recorded a number of albums for her own label, Rouge Records, both as a solo performer and as part of the aforementioned groups.

“Fabulous style a cross between Victoria Wood and Edith Piaf.” - Musical Theatre Matters, Edinburgh

“A sparkling combination; beautiful singing, spirited story-telling and dazzling jazz piano-playing.” - Magee Hickey, WCBS-TV, New York

“Deliciously tangled rhymes and dizzying musical twists, she’s a cultural treasure.” - William Dart, NZ Listener

This promises to be a unique opportunity to experience a highly entertaining musical theatre in an intimate location. Don’t miss out! Drinks/nibbles after the show.
