Miami Beach, a city which rose from the sandy coast of South Florida in the first decades of the 20th century, is world renowned for its Art Deco architecture.

This is the story of how a lady from Brooklyn defied personal tragedy, organised a coalition of artists and preservationists, built a business model, and saved 1000 buildings. The story will be told with photographs through the lens of the buildings Barbara Capitman loved and preserved.
