We are very sorry for any inconvenience this is causing and will update Eventfinda as soon as we have found a new date in the future. We are hoping we can make arrangements within the next 4 weeks.

A conservation-themed family friendly day that you can either enjoy on, at or in the water at Lake Taharoa, Kai Iwi Lakes.

Explore the crystal clear water at Lake Taharoa through a free guided snorkel experience from Experiencing Marine Reserves - gear hire included.

Practise your paddling skills with the Waka Ama from Te Hikuwai O Waka Ama Club! Or come and visit one of the stalls and displays on land and take part in some activities and games.

Thanks to Kaipara District Council, Foundation North and the support of many other businesses organisations like Northland Regional Council and Coastguard Northern Region, the Open Day also gives you an insight into the rare biodiversity found in dune lakes - they are a truly special place!

Family friendly activities at the Kai Iwi Lakes Open Day include:
- Guided day and night snorkeling - registration for night snorkel via Eventbrite
- Waka ama and water safety
- Biodiversity displays and information
- Interactive games and artwork
- Food and drink for purchase

If you are coming to the lakes specially for the event, keep in mind that you can book in at the Kai Iwi Lakes campground and make a weekend of it.
