Welcome to the Kaikoura Adventure Race!
Adventure Racing is a sport combining multiple disciplines including trekking, mountain biking, kayaking, and navigation, into a complete journey. Teams race together to overcome challenges and complete the stages back-to-back in the shortest time possible.
The Kaikoura Adventure Race is a traditional adventure race with 24, 12, 6 and 3 hour course lengths on offer. All courses will be designed to ensure that the strongest teams are challenged while still being achievable for all. There will be short course options available to those teams unable to complete the full course in the allotted time.
Located in the Kaikoura District, just 2 hours drive north from Christchurch and 2 hours south from Blenheim, the exact location and course will be kept secret until closer to the event. At the pre-event briefing teams will be provided with marked maps and course notes which will provide valuable insight into the course ahead.
The event is hosted as a fundraiser for adventure racing groups and Kaikoura High School.
