Be inspired and start crafting a new poem with poet and writer Laura Williamson. This workshop will take you through a range of tools to get started on a piece of poetic writing and to refine your work as you go.

A writer, songwriter and poet based in Central Otago, Laura Williamson is the editor of 1964: mountain culture / aotearoa, a national print magazine exploring the culture of New Zealand’s remote places. She is the co-writer of The Blue Moments Project song and spoken word cycle, which premiered to a sold-out audience at the 2017 Festival of Colour arts festival, and her book The Bike and Beyond: Life on Two Wheels in Aotearoa New Zealand is out now.

Laura’s poetry has been published widely in New Zealand and abroad, including in the Poetry NZ Yearbook, Mayhem Literary Journal and The Hellfire Anthology. She regularly performs her work live, and will be touring the Otago Central Rail Trail this November as part of the Rail:Lines Spoke’n’Word Tour.

This event will take place in the Production Office at the Sherwood which is located above the Restaurant and entry is from the main foyer.
