Enjoy a short taonga puoro (traditional Māori instrument) audio visual presentation by musician, recording artist, producer, composer, presenter and activist Mahina-Ina Kingi-Kaui (Ngāi Tahu, Kati Mamoe, Ngati Porou, Te Atihaunui a Pāpārangi).

Mahina features in and has been a producer for numerous projects and collaborations both national and international. She is the lead vocalist for the band Big Belly Woman and was a founding member and performer with Pacific Curls who toured with Arts On Tour NZ. Recently appearing with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra and Te Ahikaaroa in 2020, Mahina is working on her new album that is dedicated to her love of ngā taonga puoro as well as orchestral music. Her compositions reflect her passion for her culture, the environment, her life experiences and global issues that affect all nations of the world.
