Maitai Bay Snorkel Day

Explore the waters of Maitai Bay, learn about kina barrens and the rāhui and what changes it has made to the bay. You may spot many different reef fish and triplefins.

This event is funded by Foundation North with the Support from DoC Far North and the Far North Surf Rescue.

Register on the day anytime between 10am and 3:30pm - event finishes at 4pm.

Fun for the whole whanau. Bring your own gear or get free hire of our mask, snorkel, fins and wetsuits.

Recommended for everyone 5 years and up. All children under 15 years must be accompanied by an adult beach observer. Experienced guides and advanced safety procedures will be in place on the day.

Koha/donations welcome.

Sea conditions permitting. Postponements will be announced through our website and facebook page. Back-up day 23rd January.
