Selwyn Community Education is based at Selwyn College, Kohimarama, Auckland.

This course runs on over four weekly sessions 6 - 9 pm with Silvia Gomez-Pineda. The course starts Monday 12 October 2020.

This unique cooking experience will lead you through an encounter with the flavours, aromas, spices and the culture of Silvia's beloved Mexico and its flavourful cuisine.

Discover the roots of Mexican cuisine, the history and traditions behind the dishes, the indigenous ingredients and the way to handle them. You will be cooking authentic handmade corn tortillas (gluten free), salsas, guacamole and main courses consisting of Carnitas (pulled pork), Barbacoa (lamb), Tostadas (chicken) and a selection of desserts. On the last night you will celebrate with a Mexican fiesta!

Your course fee includes all ingredients for this course and you'll get to sample the delicious food you make each evening.
