St Marks Anglo-Catholic Mass is an Auckland Anglican Diocesan initiative, for ALL people in the Auckland Region who wish to worship God in the formal, rich Liturgical tradition of the church – two thousand years old.

People, young adults and elderly, come from Orewa to Pukekohe, and some are just enquirers, seeking ‘something’ – not quite sure what. ALL are welcome. If you are Baptised in any Christian denomination you are welcome to receive communion. Or you may just wish a Blessing which is available to the unbaptized too. [Just cross your arms across your chest at the Altar rail] There is an Offering to God [Monetary Collection] before the Consecration.

WHAT happens at Mass. The Last Supper with Jesus is enacted, with the celebrant/priest consecrating Bread and Wine, as did Jesus, as his Body and Blood, and sharing this with his followers – now the present Congregation. The first part of the service involves preparation, preaching and reading of the Bible, and the second part moves to the action at the Altar. The Congregation files to the altar to receive their share once consecration takes place.

The Mass runs on the FIRST Saturday of the month at 5pm [ending 6pm with tea/coffee in Hall] and the service is the Eve / Vigil of the Sunday next day.

Fr Wayne Brodeur, Priest in Charge
