The Nelson Fringe Festival is the Top of the South’s quirkiest and only Fringe Festival!
The Festival runs annually in the first week of May. It is a nine day celebration of fringey theatre awesomeness - with workshops during the day and performances by night.
The Nelson Fringe has a life of its own, and is growing before our very eyes. In four years we have grown from 15 shows and 6 workshops in our first year in 2015 to 42 shows and 15 workshops in 2018. Because of this growth, we are considering a way to keep our Festival small and quirky and have no intention to get any bigger in 2020! Because of this, we most likely will be instituting a lottery system for shows from now on. Keep an eye out for more news about this!
Thank you so much to everyone who has taken part in the Nelson Fringe to date. We love our audience, performers, visual artists, volunteers, sponsors, audience, supporters, adopters and audience (did we mention our incredible audience?). Nelson you rock!
