This vibrant, multicultural national youth choir will offer a dynamic, international concert programme, including works by Sam Pottle, William Byrd, Michael McGlynn, Haydn, and several New Zealand composers.
The NZSSC aims to develop New Zealand’s finest young singers so they can realize their potential in music and singing. Members have the opportunity to learn from some of New Zealand’s most experienced conductors and vocal coaches, to sing with other equally talented young singers from all over the country and to represent New Zealand both here and overseas.
The choir last performed in Napier in January 2018: “The audience was enthralled and totally absorbed in everything they heard and saw, from start to finish... Little wonder that the audience was on its feet at the end in a prolonged standing ovation in appreciation of a superb concert where all the singers continually projected the pleasure they gained from singing and sharing this with an appreciative audience.”
