The Night of Ideas is back in Wellington with a new edition, location and a wide range of speakers. Reserve your free tickets here.

About this event:
The French Embassy is proud to present the second Franco-Kiwi edition of La Nuit des Idées – the Night of Ideas – on 31 January 2020 at Te Papa Tongarewa Museum in Wellington.

The global theme for 2020 will be "Being Alive", and in New Zealand, we will focus on sharing French and Pacific perspectives.

At nightfall, artists, intellectuals and scientists from France and the Pacific region will get together and express what "being alive" means to them.

"Tihei Mauri Ora" is a Māori expression which means "There is life" which can be interpreted as an appreciation of nature, an acknowledgement of life force or a ray of hope, etc. Like a reflection of our times, this expression can also reconnect us to the urgency of acting to continue living in harmony - not only with nature but also with ourselves.

Partners: Institut Français, Creative New Zealand, Alliance Française Wellington, Victoria University of Wellington, the France-Aotearoa Science Technology and !nnovation (Fast!), Le Petit Journal Wellington and the Centre Culturel Tjibaou.
