Copperplate writing is what many believe to be “beautiful or fancy writing” which of course it is! It is a beautiful and elegant script and its uses are many. Invitations, cards, prose, quotations, names and the copperplate script will complement any delicate artwork.
This is the first Copperplate workshop at Inkt. You will learn the lower-case letters in the morning and then learn the basic construction of the Capitals (of which there are many variations) in the afternoon. You will also learn the numerals.
This workshop is best suited for students who have taken the Pointed Pen Uncial Hand workshop, or who have some similar beginner experience with a pointed pen. Each student will receive individual tuition throughout the day. Students will receive comprehensive handouts, guide sheets plus a pen holder, pointed pen nib, ink, an A4 layout pad and related supplies.
Class fee is $120, payable on sign-up. Students should bring their own lunch. Coffee and tea will be provided. Class size limited to 7 students. To secure your spot please pay at the Inkt shop or ring 06 262 8080 to pay by credit card. Fee is non-refundable and the workshop date selected cannot be changed.
