Are you a parent of a child with autism or do you work with a child with autism? Do you want to learn skills to support their play with others? The Victoria University of Wellington Autism Clinic is hosting an ONLINE interactive workshop (via Zoom) teaching some of the strategies from the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM).

Certified ESDM therapist Lauren van Noorden will be running this interactive online ESDM workshop focusing on hands-on strategies for building positive interactions with your child. This workshop will provide an overview of the foundational ESDM techniques including gaining your child's attention, becoming a fun play partner with them, and engaging with them in activities. Getting engaged and becoming a play partner is the first step in the ESDM, and is important to establish before teaching any new skills.

Tickets for this event are $25 for professionals and $15 for whānau members of children with autism. Places are limited to 30 people.

** you MUST include your email address when purchasing tickets so that we can send you the Zoom link for the workshop **

We are running one additional online workshop this month:
- Supporting Play with Others (Tuesday 28th April)

The ESDM is an extremely promising intervention which has been used in over 35 countries worldwide. It is a play-based behavioural therapy that targets a wide range of developmental skills for children under the age of 5 who have, or are suspected to have, autism. ESDM therapy aims to accelerate child learning and teach key developmental skills through fun interactions which are embedded in daily routines and play.
