Open Farms Day

Open Farms Day is a nationwide free initiative that aims to reconnect Kiwis with their food, farmers and the land on Sunday the 1st of March 2020.

Over 50 farms nationwide will open their gates to the public, with each farm hosting family-friendly activities that everyone can enjoy.

We are a young couple passionate about best practise pastoral farming. We have recently purchased Waihora Farm situated on the western side of Lake Taupo. We graze 130ha with 300 sheep and 300 cattle and also have 20ha of retired native bush, trees and wetland areas. On a clear day we have wonderful views of Lake Taupo and the mountains.

We proudly supply Taupo Beef and Lamb. Farming within the Taupo Catchment we operate under a strict Nitrogen Management Plan to do our part to protect and preserve the water quality of Lake Taupo for generations to come.
