Open Farms Day is a nationwide free initiative that aims to reconnect Kiwis with their food, farmers and the land on Sunday the 1st of March 2020.

Over 50 farms nationwide will open their gates to the public, with each farm hosting family-friendly activities that everyone can enjoy.

Please register your interest for your selected farm via the website link.
From there, you will be sent specific event details.

We have been farming this property for forty years. When we first came, there were hardly any trees on the farm. Now, as you will see, we have planted tens of thousands made up of forestry, nut trees, ornamentals, shelter belts, riparian strips alongside the waterways and wetlands.

We will have a tour to see these plantings and different classes of stock. We will have sheep in the yards and will shear a few in our relatively new woolshed. Our farms have won the HB Farmer of the Year, the East Coast Ballance Farm Environment Award and the HB Farm Forester of the Year. We look forward to meeting and hosting you.

Open Farms is proud to be sponsored by Beef + Lamb New Zealand, DairyNZ, the Our Land and Water National Science Challenge and Farmside Powered by Vodafone.
