New Zealand and the National Wetland Trust are proud to host the first segment of the 24 hour global Peat Fest this weekend.

• It’s free
• It’s online
• It starts at 11 am on Sunday - so you can watch it over brunch
• It will be recorded and available online later in case you miss it

This event is being organised by RE-PEAT, a global youth-oriented group raising awareness of issues facing the world’s peatlands.

The Peat Fest will bring together artists, farmers, scientists, policy-makers and young thinkers from around the world, to explore the topic of peatlands from every angle. Some of the guest speakers include writer Robin Crawford, artist Kate Foster, singer/storyteller Sam Lee, the Seamus Heaney Homeplace museum, and co-chair of the European Greens and Member of the European Parliament, Thomas Waitz.

There will be different live and pre-recorded sessions every hour of the 24 hour day.
