Visit Maungawhau Playcentre during Playcentre Open Week 16-20 March 2020.

We are opening our doors and inviting all children aged between 0 and 6 to bring along their parents, care-givers and whānau for some free-flow play at our beautiful leafy centre in Marsden Avenue, Mt Eden.

No need to book in - just come along between 10am and 12 noon-ish to get wet and messy in our large, shaded sandpit, make potions, a waterslide, do some glue-gunning, family-play, face or body-painting, play dough, cooking...you name it, we do it at Playcentre!

Welcome to our Village!

Playcentre fosters friendships between children and adults and their wider whānau... so bring a friend and discover your local Playcentre during Open Week.

"Friendships that you establish in early childhood, and the social skills that underpin those, are more of an indicator of the child’s future academic success than any of the cognitive outputs (like colours, alphabet and numbers).

Playcentre has a long and proud tradition of focusing on developing children’s social skills and they remain today as consistent with the literature and the research on what is best for children… We should be really proud as New Zealanders that we have something like Playcentre." – Neuroscience Educator, Nathan Wallis
