This event has been postponed due to COVID-19 Alert Level 2.
While it’s disappointing to have to reschedule this event, we want to help keep our visitors, artists, staff and community safe from the spread of COVID-19.
Petone Settlers Museum is still open, so do come and explore our exhibitions at your own pace. We encourage visitors to take the following precautions:
- If you’re sick, stay home.
- Help protect yourself, your whānau and your community by signing in to the NZ COVID Tracer app on arrival.
- Try to keep a healthy distance away from other people.
- Wash your hands when you arrive and leave. We’re well stocked with soap and sanitiser.
- Wear a mask, if possible.
- Cough or sneeze into your elbow.
- Be kind to our team and each other.
As our Alert Levels change over the coming weeks, we’ll look at confirming a new date for the event. Check our website and social media for updates.
Thank you for your continued support. Stay safe and look after one another. Noho ora mai.
Ngā mihi,
The team at Petone Settlers Museum
Need a haircut? We need to talk!
You’re invited to enter the Political Cutz 2020 pop-up hair salon to share your thoughts on upcoming election issues in exchange for a free haircut.
Whether you’re a political animal, an apathetic everyman or a directionless concerned citizen, there’s some things we can all agree on; free things are good things, and better communication builds better communities.
Political Cutz is here to provide you, the public, with a friendly space to meet, connect, chill, chat and update your ‘do. Grab yourself a complimentary coffee and observe, interact with various local candidates standing in the upcoming election, or get a free haircut - in exchange for a political conversation with the hairdresser.
Please note Political Cutz 2020 is a politically neutral space and we approach this with no political alignment.
This event is part of Petone Settlers Museum’s newest exhibition, Enter The Hatmosphere, which celebrates 145 years of local company Hills Hats.
