Please join us for an evening that will appeal to all levels of gardening experience. Jess and Andre offer a wealth of knowledge in regenerative gardening and are excited to present an evening to inspire gardeners to work with natural systems in their own gardens.

We will be serving complementary refreshments from 6.30pm onwards. The presentation starts at 7pm. Afterwards there will be an opportunity to talk with Jess and Andre while enjoying a tea or coffee. There will be sweet treats and gardening gifts for sale. Please bring cash or alternatively internet banking will be accepted.

As seen on the recent Netflix documentary "Kiss The Ground" the future of food will be dependent on our appreciation for the soil and the power and life within it - We hope that you'll leave inspired to do your bit for looking after the soil and gardening in a different, more respectful way. We hope that you'll leave the evening with a greater understanding of the connection between soil health, microbes in the soil and the functions of plants, as well as loads of practical gardening tips and tricks.

Jess manages an incredible regenerative market garden in Porirua where she has transformed a rundown bowling green into an abundant edible garden space. The garden offers community education, organic vegetables food box subscriptions, production of large scale compost, produce donations for the local community and all of this - in one year. This is only the beginning for the amazing Jess and the growth of the Porirua market garden. Jess is especially passionate about all things compost, soil life and biology and is currently studying soil sciences. Jess has a wealth of knowledge in urban agriculture from her past life back in Canada.

Andre is a newly appointed garden manager for a community garden space in Rongotai, near the Wellington Airport. This project is an Edible Earth initiative and it is in the beginning stages. The new edible earth space will slowly transform into a similar garden like the one in Porirua. Andre has knowledge in growing and management of fruit trees and vegetables as well as flowering perennials. Andre has recently completed studies in Permaculture through Kōanga Institute, he’s participated in a Household Gardener workshop at Roebuck Farm in Taranaki and for the past month has been volunteering at Wairarapa Eco Farm.

Andre and Jess will be continuing their study of Permaculture through gaining their Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC) from Toru Education in 2021
