From the sessions participants acquire the skills and knowledge they need to feel more grounded, centered and at peace. More empowered to overcome challenges, maintain well being of body and mind, and lead more productive and joyful lives.
Course Structure
Over the weekend participants will be guided gently inward through setting their motivation in the morning and exploring their body and mind through grounding and centering; using movement, therapeutic sounds and dharma music.
We begin with a series of warm ups, breathing exercises and meditation to remove physical tensions and blocks, warm up the body and bring ourselves into the moment as a preparation for the therapeutic sounds.
Working intuitively, Jon's sound meditations can feature the rattle, breath, voice, chimes, flute, bowls and other instruments to leave you grounded, centered and clear. Sound meditations use vibrational healing methods to improve your health and well-being at the levels of mind, body and energy. The frequencies and vibrations will permeate every cell and fiber of your body and can send you on a deep journey, reveal precious insights and ultimately producing a deep sense of presence, relaxation and calmness.
About Jon
Jon Kwan’s love affair with sound and music began 35 years ago and he has been playing and composing ever since. After many years of studying and training in various systems of well-being, self-care and spirituality, sound and music have become the primary tools he uses to help people to relax, gain insights and develop clarity. Jon has been using sound therapeutically since 2011 and qualified as a yoga teacher in 2013. His commitment to a life of continued learning is geared towards developing more compassion, more understanding, more effectiveness in designing programmes and leading sessions that benefit others.
After his first Vipassana course in 2003, Jon’s ongoing spiritual journey of discovery has led to travel to India, Nepal, Mongolia, and training in hatha yoga, tai chi, reiki, movement, plant medicines, and Tibetan yoga, Yungdrung Bon, Buddhism and Dzogchen.
Jon has written and performs original music inspired by the Dharma, his music inspired by the The Root Text of the Seven Points of Training the Mind by Chekawa Yeshe Dorje and Trungpa Rinpoche's accompanying teachings and commentary, an undertaking encouraged and auhorised by his teacher Lelung Rinpoche.
