You're invited to a party! Join us at the Virtual Book Launch celebration of 'It Happened On Fifth Street: a tale of forgotten heroes'.
Bring your own tipple of choice to your computer, and hang out with me, Robyn Pearce, author, and my smart-as-a-whip co-host for the night, Lauren Parsons, as we celebrate the successful conclusion of three years of writing and research. There'll be some fun stuff, prize draws and a special rate for the book, just for that night. We'll be on Zoom, so you'll be able to ask questions. And I’ll read a couple of small sections of the dramatic events in the life of Alf Burnett.
Also, I'll tell how the adventure of writing this particular story began, and why a Kiwi living in rural New Zealand decided to write a story set in America in the 1830s and 40s. I'll share some of the lessons I've learnt as the writing progressed, the amazing places I visited as I researched, and the awesome people who've generously shared their knowledge along the way.
Writing this book has been quite a journey. And, it began, just as it did for Abi in the story, with letters in a tin trunk.
The is no cost for this online event. Simply register to reserve your spot and receive the Zoom link for the party.
