Romiromi Workshop 2

Romiromi workshop 2 starts on Saturday the 29th February and finishes on Sunday 1st March. Charlotte Mildon, kairomiromi and teacher of Te Oomai Reia Romiromi ’as taught to her by the late Papa Hohepa De La Mere, Whaanau-Apa-nui Tohunga Ahurewa (a priest of a higher order). After being mentored for over 17 years by Tohunga and Tohunga Ahurewa, Charlotte is fluent in the lores and ethics of romiromi Māori healing. Now in 2020, Charlotte is now presenting a series of romiromi workshops in Hawkes Bay. She is ready to pass on this ancient form of Te Oomai Reia Māori healing knowledge.

Charlotte's latest book - ‘He Atua Wāhine at the source of ancient Māori healing wisdom’ was a finalist in the 2019 Ashton Wylie mind, body spirit, literary awards and can be purchased on this link www.aiohealng.com Between the lines of this book, you will discover narratives of Tohunga Wāhine who were very ordinary women but could perform extraordinary acts of spiritual healing, simply by tuning into the tohu (signs) of nature and the Atua Wāhine (divine feminine).

If you are an existing mirimiri or romiromi practitioner, a bodyworker, a rongoā practitioner, an academic, a reiki practitioner, a social worker, a cultural advisor or even if you just have a fascination in wairua (spiritual) healing, then register your interest because people at all levels are welcome to this workshop.

Students will learn how to release mamae and traumatic experiences in their own body which can often result in unhealthy and abusive relationships. Students will learn how to use a rakau to release the build up of emotional experiences to release the effects of these relationships in their own bodies. We will explore the 'puku riri'of strong emotions held in the body. Takutaku and whakapapa are also on the program.

All participants are required to purchase 2 different sized rakau from Mitre 10 for this workshop.
