Scrabble Club launch - Third Time Lucky

For people who love the game of Scrabble, there’s nothing more enjoyable than sitting in a room full of people playing the game. This event is designed to launch a new club in Masterton. Everyone is invited to come along to Masterton District Library Learning Centre on Wednesday 28 October from 2-5 pm to see how much fun it can be. The plan is to play weekly, so if you can’t come to the launch, please contact Sue McRae on 027 4490 601 or sue.mcrae.nz@gmail.com to indicate your preferred day and time.

Covid put paid to plans to launch the club in April and August but October is looking good! The Masterton Scrabble Club will be affiliated to the New Zealand Association of Scrabble Players and become one of 30 clubs in the country. Being part of the NZASP means players will have access to great tips and advice from expert Kiwi players, plus free word lists, carefully vetted by the World English Scrabble Players Association (or WESPA). This eliminates any arguments about which words are acceptable. It's amazing how much fun it can be when you have access to good word lists.

This "Third-Time Lucky" launch is free and open to everyone. Just come along with or without your own Scrabble set! No need to register.
