The Social Bowls3Five Tournament (Previously Business House Bowls) is an annual tournament for social bowlers to enjoy lawn bowls in friendly competition. Held over six weeks during the summer months, Social Bowls3Five is a great opportunity for you to get a group of friends or colleagues together for some fun and friendly competition in the beautiful surroundings of St Heliers Bowling Club.

Format
The format of this year's tournament is the exciting new Bowls3Five format that was introduced by Bowls NZ last year and is the format that is seen on Sky Sports. The new format is not so different than in previous years. It is a game of triples (3) played over Five ends. Each player plays two bowls per end and if scores are tied after five ends then a tie breaker is played. Teams have the opportunity to one "Powerplay" per game that provides the team with double points should they win the Powerplay end. Each team will play four games per week with the overall winners determined by the most points on the league table.

Who Should Play?
This is groups of friends, work colleagues, families or for people looking to get into the sport but has limited time due to work, family or other sporting commitments. The beauty of lawn bowls is that anyone can play regardless of age gender or ability and as such the competition is open to teams of all males/females or mixed. While previous experience of bowls would be an advantage to your team the tournament is open to beginners with little of no experience. Our friendly members will be on hand to offer advice and give you some pointers.
