This workshop is held at the Okains Bay Māori and Colonial Museum.

Please note that the workshop price does not include the $10 entry fee for adults to the museum (children $2, pre-schoolers are free). Please bring cash and please do note that this is the museum’s key fundraising day, so do come along and support them!

We are honoured to be taking part in Waitangi Day commemorations at Okains Bay on 6 February 2020. As part of this, we have been invited to present some workshops at the wonderful Okains Bay Māori and Colonial Museum.

So come along and learn how to make a spoon at Okains Bay and be part of the Waitangi Day commemorations.

You will learn basic whittling techniques with a straight & curved whittling knives, and learn all about the ancient traditions of greenwood-working.

Please note: This workshop is only suited to adults and those who can work safely without direct supervision with very sharp hand tools.
