Hand-made, natural, local - that's the focus of a week of workshops at our 36th annual summerschool - in the Summer Do 2020 - at the Quarry Arts Centre, Whangarei. Take your pick from 10 workshops run by expert tutors: make your own line of ceramic kitchen ware or large figurative sculpture. Up-skill your ceramics techniques in a hand-building masterclass. Learn how to build and fire primitive style kilns and create amazing surface finishes with natural materials.

Get down and muddy with some natural earth building. Perhaps you want to learn how to operate a wood-fired kiln, or make your own clay. If printing, drawing and illustrating is your thing, take the workshop on solar etching Intaglio printing techniques; or learn survival as a painter in the Painters Bootcamp! Handbuild something beautiful with clay one day, then glaze and fire it in the raku kiln on a different day.

Workshops range from 2 to 5 days, so you can mix and match to make a week of it.

Join us at Summer Do 2020, and celebrate the rich traditions of arts and crafts at the Quarry Arts Centre.
