Celebrate kapa haka with this impressive display of lightboxes at Takutai Square. The imagery features a selection of local kapa haka from Tāmaki Makaurau, some of whom have earned the privilege to represent Tāmaki Makaurau at the next national kapa haka competition.

With the approach of Te Matatini Herenga Waka Herenga Tangata, this installation showcases an art form that brings people of all ages and backgrounds together and provides a backdrop to some dynamic performances.

The groups featured are the five groups that will represent Tāmaki Makaurau at the next national competition. Congratulations and ngā mihi nui to them:
-Ngā Tūmanako (regional winners and current Te Matatini National Champions)
-Te Waka Huia
-Te Roopū Manutaki
-Te Taha Tū
-Tuwhitia kia Angitu.

Don't miss Te Taumata Kapa Haka: Live, also at Takutai Square from Mon 29 June – Sat 4 July. Purchase a hāngi lunch while experiencing live kapa haka.
