What is The Coastal?
Thanks for asking. The Coastal is NZ’s newest running and walking event, located in Timaru on the east coast of the South Island.
As well as quite possibly being the most scenic running event in the country, it is also diverse with packed and loose trails, road and footpath, along with sweeping runs of the wetlands, combined with a total gradient climb of just over 100m.
Enjoy the harmony of the ocean alongside you, the cadence of your feet beating the path and the sound of natural wildlife through the wetlands.
With 5k, 10k and Half Marathon events, all with running or walking options there is a distance and category to suit every individual.
All events finish outside the iconic Speights Ale House in Timaru, creating the ideal supporter backdrop and location to celebrate post-run.
