Thundercat Racing - Trinity Wharf Circuit Race

Thundercat Racing will be back to Bay of Plenty January 2020, as crews battle for the National Championship in this high speed, high adrenaline motorsport.

Thundercat Racing is a high adrenaline motorsport with tight competitive racing in a tunnel hulled inflatable boat. All about the top speed, the Trinity Wharf circuit race is popular with spectators as teams walk the fine line of maintaining maximum speed without the rig taking flight from a slight wind gust or ripple on the water.

Boats are powered by an outboard motor with a crew of only two people who must work together seamlessly to attack waves and navigate sharp turns around the course.

"Bay of Plenty has historically been a favourite for competitors given the awesome waterways and the overwhelming local support”, says club president Michael Graves who himself races in the Bathrooms By Elite boat. Graves added "this format and location was a huge success last season, so we are back to do it again in 2020"
