Try Japanese Taiko Drumming Taster

Want to make new friends? Find a new hobby? get more exercise? And have fun doing it? Come and learn taiko with us at our Open Session!

No drumming or music experience necessary. Beginners and all ages welcome! Donation entry.

We are Narukami Taiko, a Japanese taiko drum team in Wellington NZ. We are always looking for new members to join our group! We teach classes in Wellington, and now Petone!

We are holding a one hour open session where you can come and try taiko drumming with us! We will show you the basics of drumming, and you will come out of it playing a fun song.

At the end of the session, we will perform a song for you.
Please bring hearing protection for any young ones coming.
You can get disposable ear plugs with a donation.

How to find us?
Walk down the schools driveway right to the end, turn right, and you will find us in the school hall beside the basketball courts.

Current classes open to beginners are:
Sundays 6 - 8pm at Wellington Girls College
Tuesdays 7 - 9pm at Petone Central School
Thursdays 6 - 7:50pm at Newtown Working Mens Bowling Club

Our new term will begin the week of August 23rd and will run for 10 weeks.
