Are you interested in slowing down a little? To take some time to look after yourself? While the holiday period is a great joy for many, it can also be far from relaxing and rejuvenating.
At Wairarapa Nature Immersion we know how busy life can get and we believe the science which tells us that a guided walk in the bush is a perfect antidote for stress and a wonderful way to boost wellbeing, creativity, purpose and focus.
Away from the 'shoulds' and 'musts', your trained guide will take you on a 2-hour long sensory journey through primary forest and regenerating bush for the purpose of enabling you to feel a deep sense of calm. The slow walk includes breathing exercises and stops at various locations to allow us to soak in the natural world with our senses.
Numerous studies into the benefits of forest bathing have shown that spending time in nature, away from the demands of daily life, helps reduce stress, anxiety and depression while also improving physiological challenges brought on by prolonged stress such as high blood pressure.
Each walk includes a refreshing drink of locally made herbal tea and a nurturing bite to eat at the end.
This particular walk is not suitable for our youngest people, but please keep an eye out for upcoming walks focusing on children and families.
Please visit our website or Facebook Page for more information about forest bathing.
We look forward to hearing from you and sharing this remarkable experience with you.
