Whether you are experienced or new to family history, there is material available online through the National Library that you can access. Joan McCracken from the Alexander Turnbull Library will explore some of the well-known resources (PapersPast, Digital NZ) and look at some that you might be new to you.

Whether you are experienced or new to family history, there is material available online through the National Library that you can access.
Joan McCracken will give some tips on using digitised material from the Alexander Turnbull Library, PapersPast, and Digital New Zealand, and also how to make the most of the National Library online resources. She will also give guidance on making the most of your visit when you do come into the National Library.
About the speaker
Joan McCracken has worked at the Alexander Turnbull Library since 1984 and has been the leader of the Library’s Outreach Services team since 2011. The team supports Turnbull’s public events programme, and includes a Field Conservator, who advises community groups on care of collections, and two oral history advisors. Joan has a personal interest in family history research.
