Getting the pacing right is a crucial element in writing a highly readable story. We’ll consider pacing at the level of the plot, and explore how to vary the pace throughout your story, as well as looking at how to write scenes that feel ‘slow’ or ‘fast’. We’ll also explore different ways of creating tension in your story, from the plot-level to the scene-level. You will have a chance to try your hand at a number of creative exercises which will help you vary the pace and create tension in your writing.
