Queenstown Jazz Orchestra
10th Anniversary Celebration Concert

Saturday 7 August 2021 - 7.30pm
Queenstown Memorial Centre, Queenstown

This is a unique and very special musical event not to be missed.
The Queenstown Jazz Orchestra’s concert in the resort on Saturday August 7th will showcase the skills of our local jazz stars and rising talents.

The 16-piece big band, which already features the region’s best jazz musicians and vocalists, will be bolstered by three or four players from the Dunedin Symphony Orchestra.

To celebrate its 10th anniversary this year we will perform big-band classics from Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Duke Ellington and Buddy Rich, as well as songs from Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Michael Buble, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee and Sarah Vaughan

The Queenstown Jazz Orchestra was formed in 2011 by a group of enthusiastic Jazz musicians residing in the Wakatipu area. Its aim was to attract Jazz musicians of all ages to form a large jazz orchestra and to encourage young musicians to participate in big band Jazz music. Over the years the band has seen many changes with both personnel and skills. All band members have extensive musical backgrounds and a number have been part of the music scene in Queenstown for many years.

The Queenstown Jazz Orchestra was always a long term vision and to attract a talented group of musicians in the area. Long may it continue!

To celebrate the 10th Anniversary, the band have invited many of the musicians and vocalists who have been part of the Queenstown Jazz Orchestra over the past 10 years, to join us for a night of music, fun and celebration.

Former members are coming from throughout the country. From the far north of Waiheke Island, to Marlborough, Blenheim, Dunedin, Wanaka and even Stewart Island.

With over 30 musicians and vocalists on stage, this will be a musical night to remember

Come join us for this rare concert performance in the Queenstown Memorial Centre

Doors open at 7.00pm.
