Mindfulness; purposeful and focused attention on the present moment, has been found to be beneficial in reducing stress, anxiety and depression, improving relationships, and increasing well-being as well as work, academic and sporting performance.

Mindfulness is best learnt by participating, experiencing it first-hand.

This ‘Day of Mindfulness’ has been designed to be practical, experiential and informative. We will combine theoretical learning regarding the guiding principles of mindfulness, practical tasters, and specific applications of mindfulness to troubling thoughts and feelings, problematic habits and behaviours. The wider aim will be to find ways of utilising mindfulness to increase meaning and satisfaction in life.

All are welcome, those new to mindfulness and those with prior experience. No pressure to participate in the exercises... sitting and listening is always an option!

Jo Wall is an occupational therapist with 25+ years experience working in mental health and well-being. She enjoys introducing mindfulness skills to all who are interested, and some who aren’t!

Bring along lunch on the day, and anything you need for comfort... a cushion, a blanket, your friend.
